Removing dead or dying limbs to prevent storm damage and restore the natural beauty of your canopy.
Is your tree trying to tell you something? Over time, all trees naturally “shed” limbs that are no longer productive or receiving enough sunlight. While this is a natural process, these dead limbs don’t always fall to the ground immediately. They hang in the canopy—brittle, heavy, and waiting for a gust of wind.
Dead wood isn’t just an eyesore that makes your property look neglected; it’s a safety hazard. A dead branch can snap without warning, damaging your roof, car, or injuring someone below. Furthermore, leaving dead wood attached allows rot and decay to travel back into the main trunk, jeopardizing the health of the entire tree.
Our climbers inspect the canopy to identify limbs that are dead, dying, or diseased. We look for brittle bark, lack of foliage, and discoloration that signals the limb is no longer viable.
We carefully cut the dead limbs back to the branch collar—the point where the limb meets the trunk. This precise cut allows the tree to “seal” the wound properly, preventing insects and decay from entering the heartwood.
We remove any “hangers” (broken branches caught in the canopy) and ensure the remaining structure is sound. The result is a tree that looks vibrant, clean, and is much safer for your property.
