Insect & Pest Management

Bark Beetle Treatment

The Symptoms

Watch for popcorn-like resin masses (“pitch tubes”) on the bark, small rice-sized exit holes, and frass (sawdust) accumulating at the base of the trunk. Foliage will quickly turn yellow or brown.

Our Treatment Protocol

1. Diagnosis & Assessment

Our certified arborists inspect the tree to confirm the presence of the pathogen or pest, evaluate the overall vigor of the tree, and determine if it is a viable candidate for treatment.

2. Targeted Application

We apply a preventative systemic bark spray. Timing is critical—we scout for adult activity (often coinciding with Dogwood and Redbud blooms) and apply treatments when temperatures consistently reach the 80s to protect stressed pines and hardwoods.

3. Ongoing Monitoring

We schedule your property in our system based on the required frequency (e.g., Annual, Bi-Annual) to ensure the protection barrier never drops.
